CONA Silent Auction at Central Ohio Coin Show

Silent Auction Rules
Silent Auction lots will be arranged in numerical order based on the date of submission by the consignor and the discretion of the auction committee. Lot viewing and will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017. Auction lot viewing and bidding will re-open at 10 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017.

Each item has a separate bid sheet or card. Bidder numbers will be provided by an auction committee member on each day of the auction or before the auction if the bidder is submitting absentee bids. Bidders will be required to provide proper identification, including: name, driver’s license number, address, phone number, etc.

Silent Auction bidding is open to the public and the public will also have the opportunity to submit absentee or proxy bids for items. Proxy bids will be opened at any time before the auction and will be listed as opening bids on the corresponding bid sheets. If an absentee bidder wants to leave a MAXIMUM BID amount with the auction committee, then a bid will be posted at “one incremental level above the last posted bid”.

To establish a bid, write the bidder number and the bid amount on the proper bid sheet. A valid bid must equal or exceed the minimum bid, the reserve amount if any and the current bid on the bid sheet. Any bid not satisfying these rules may be rejected by the auction committee.

Final bids will only be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on September 2, 2017. Do not expect to stand in line at that time and have a bid recorded. The motto should be to “bid early and bid often”.

Invoices and items from the silent auction will be available for payment and pick up by the winning bidder on September 2, 2017 after the auction committee has recorded and separated the lots by buyer and consigner for those not sold. This process will take until at least 4:00 p.m. Pick up and payment will be also be available on Sunday September 3,2017 at the show. If the winning bidder is not at the OSCS to pick up lots, arrangements will have to made with the auction committee to pick up the lots at the CONA meeting September 20th or to have the lot(s) mailed. This will require additional fees for postage and insurance.
